The Animal Fair Crew is volunteering at the Salmon BBQ tomorrow. Hope to see you all there! The proceeds from the event go to some very constructive educational projects as well as actual physical restoration of our local rivers and streams.

Salmon Fishing Update, June 14th
Salmon Season is open again and we are headed out this morning to fish for a four day trip! Recent sport reports and the larger boats who were able to fish the opening day suggest that conditions may have improved over the last two weeks.
We're going to fish as much as possible until the season temporarily closes again at the end of June, and are planning to have a sale if the weather becomes too rough to go fishing or at the end of the month.
We're looking forward to seeing you!

Salmon Fishing Update, June 1st
Salmon season is currently closed above Pigeon Point until June 13th. When it opens up again we'll be allowed to fish north of Point Arena and we are very excited to make some trips to Shelter Cove.
May turned out to be very poor fishing for salmon in California and we're all hoping the conditions will improve by the June 13th opener!

Critters from the Deep
Critters from the Deep
There are all kinds of interesting scavengers that hang out on the ocean floor. Some of them have a surprising range of habitat and live in the intertidal zone but also out in the deeper water, 1500 ft, where we have been fishing. Our Black Cod traps baited with squid must smell pretty good because we attract some interesting characters!
Black Cod Fishing is open as of January 1st, 2016!
Happy New Year from the Animal Fair Crew!
We have all enjoyed resting up and spending some time with friends and family this wonderfully rainy holiday season. We plan on heading out for Black Cod again as soon as the ocean subsides from this latest series of storms.
Keep an eye out for an email update from us when we see a safe weather opening for our offshore (10 miles) deep water (1800 ft) Black Cod fishing!
Thanks for checking in!

Newly "Upcycled" Anchor Gear!
We are happy to report that we have been keeping busy despite the rain and holiday season! We have made the trek down to Oakland to have our old and rusted anchor chain sandblasted and re-galvanized. Surprisingly all of this work is still less expensive than purchasing a new chain, and besides, we've been through a lot of rough anchorages with this tried and true equipment! Happy Shiny New Year!
